GLPI, an initialism for Gestionnaire libre de parc informatique (Free Management of Computer Equipment), is a free trouble ticket system software that anyone can use it to build up a database with an inventory for computer equipment (computer, software, printers...). It has enhanced functions like a job-tracking-system with mail-notification and methods to build a database with basic information about the network-topology.

Overview

GLPI is a web interface developed in PHP. Its features include:

  • Inventory of computers, peripherals, network printers and associated components through an interface with OCS Inventory OCS Inventory.
  • Management of issues on many environments trough creation of tickets, management of tickets, assignment, schedule of tickets, etc.
  • Licenses management.
  • Assignment of equipment by geographical area to users and groups.
  • Management of business and financial information (purchase, guarantee and extension, damping)
  • State management equipment.
  • Management of applications for assistance of all types of equipment inventory.
  • Interface to allow the user to file a ticket support.
  • Business management, contracts, documents related to inventory items.
  • Booking Equipment
  • Management of a Frequently-Asked Questions (FAQ).
  • Generation of reports about hardware, network or interventions (support).

Moreover, GLPI has many plugins from adding other features to list this.

On January, 2009, 1659 entities and 917.597 computers were reported using the software. [1]
