Rachel Barrett
Vorlage:Infobox soap character Rachel Barrett is a fictional character on NBC's daytime drama Passions. Rachel was played by Sharon Wyatt from December 30 2005 until April 3 2006. It should be noted that she was originally going to sign a six month contract, and only agreed to signed a one year contract if she was allowed to leave to take care of her parents, who were ill.
Character history
Rachel Barrett is the beautiful and free-spirited older sister of Katherine Barrett, and former fiancée of Alistair Crane. When she had changed her mind about marrying him, Alistair had faked her death and then held her captive for years, beating her and raping her whenever he wanted. She escaped at one point, then disappeared, faking her own death for many years. Though mentioned, but never seen before her identity was finally revealed to be the "Passions Red" mystery woman, notable for her white cape and blood red fingernails.
She returned to Harmony shortly after Alistair married Theresa Lopez-Fitzgerald. Alistair was terrified to see her alive and well, but Katherine was thrilled that her sister wasn't dead after all. Rachel soon regained the once-close relationship she had with her sister, and encouraged Katherine to pursue Martin Fitzgerald, even though he was married to Pilar Lopez-Fitzgerald. She also gave her niece Sheridan information that led Sheridan to Hawaii to search for Marty; Beth and Marty got away, fleeing to Rome.

Trivia
- Rachel Barrett has some uncanny similarities to the Days of our Lives character Rachel Blake. Rachel Blake was once the concubine of Stefano DiMera, who appears to be the inspiration for Alistair Crane. Her death was faked, and she stalked Stefano and various other characters as the lady-in-white. James E Reilly was the writer for both Days and Passions.
- Rachel was first referenced in the novel Hidden Passions as the eighteen year old intended bride of Alistair Crane who was twenty two at the time. Rachel was believed to have died in a boating accident which according to slight references in the book happened in1947.
- Rachel is at least four years older then Katherine based on Katherine's reminiscences in Hidden Passions.
