Biography
Vorlage:Unsourced Farshid was born to an Iranian Jewish family. He went in 1988 to the British High School viz British Council and subsequently to Shiraz University where he studi^sed oriental studies with a focus on Persian literature, Arabic philology, and historical comparative linguistics. Simultaneously he studied calligraphy and painting in his hometown. In 1994 he obtained his BA degree and moved to Tehran in order to continue his education with a MA degree in Oriental philology and comparative linguistics. In 1997 he finished his MA in Semitic, Caucasian, and Iranian philology. He subsequently moved to Tbilisi, Georgia and the Russian Federation in order to continue his specialization in classical philology, and Caucasian, Slavic, and Semitic linguistics. About 2000, Delshad defended his first doctoral thesis at Tbilisi State University and then moved to Germany, where he entered Friedrich-Schiller University for a postdoc in Oriental linguistics. Delshad defended his second doctoral dissertation in 2004. In addition to these qualifications he obtained an interpreter diploma in Russian, Arabic, English, and Georgian in Germany as well as an in German as a foreign language, with minors in Indo-Germanic linguistics. Since 1994 he has worked as a lecturer of Iranian and comparative linguistics in Persia, Russia, Georgia, Ireland, Germany, United States, and Switzerland. He is currently teaching at the Orientalisches Seminar of Freiburg University.Farshid’ s main interests are Interdisciplinary Linguistics and [Research Minority Research] with particular focus on Jewish, Christian, Baha’i and other none-Muslim denominations in the Muslim world.
