Halime Hatun (Vorlage:Lang-ota) was the wife of Ertuğrul Bey, and possibly the mother of Osman I Bey, the founder of the Ottoman Empire.Vorlage:Citation needed
Biography
Halime Hatun married Ertuğrul and gave birth to three or four sons, Osman I, Gündüz Alp, Savcı Bey, and Saru Batu. Historian Heath W. Lowry, among other Ottoman scholars, state that Osman I's mother is unknown.[1] The burial place of Halime Hatun is located in the garden of the Ertuğrul Gazi's grave in Söğüt.
Name
As she became the member of the Kayi Tribe, she was called Halime Hatun. After her son's accession to the Ottoman throne, she earned the title
