Metal Slug Anthology
Vorlage:Infobox CVG Metal Slug Anthology is a video game compilation for the PlayStation 2, PlayStation Portable, and Wii. The Wii version boasts different controller configurations, most taking advantage of the Wii Remote. Controversially, the Classic Controller is not supported. The game also marks the return of SNK Playmore as a third-party developer for a Nintendo console since the NES era.
For the PS2 and Wii versions, the graphics are exactly the same as the original versions released (e.g. arcade, Neo Geo, and the more recent titles published on PS2 and Xbox). The PSP version has a wireless ad hoc mode so that two people can play together and work as a team, however cooperative gameplay is still enabled on the console versions of the game.
Included titles
The games themselves are done via emulation of Neo-Geo AES versions, except for Metal Slug 6, which is a port of arcade version.Vorlage:Fact
Included features
All of the Metal Slug series are included on one disk, they're sewn together seamlessly with the option to choose which to play. The series has not been altered in any way. This is the same with the characters and abilities which have all been kept the same. However in the game's manual the 'slide' ability is said to be achievable in Metal Slug 4, 5, and 6 but 6 does not include this feature in either the Arcade or console version.
Extra features
The game includes several special features mainly returning from Metal Slug 6, including but not limited to:
- Art Gallery - Concept Art of Metal Slug 1 to 6.
- Sound Gallery - Music from Metal Slug 1 to 6.
- Game Options - Including difficulty, lives (which can be limited or unlimited, if they are limited the amount of lives the player has depends upon the difficulty) and a rapid-fire option.
- Interview - A readable interview with some of the games designers and programmers about the Metal Slug series it self.
Box-Art miss print
In the original back side box art states that it supports 4-player Wii Remotes. This is just a common print error. This is later fixed in the newer copies.
