Derek Anthony Klena (born October 3, 1991)[1][2] is an American actor and singer. He originated the role of Eddie Birdlace in the stage adaptation of Dogfight,[3] and played Fiyero Tiggular in the 10th anniversary company of Wicked on Broadway.[4] He had made appearances on television series such as Law & Order: SVU, Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, and Blue Bloods.
In 2016, he originated the role of Dmitry in Anastasia on Broadway. In 2020, Klena received a Tony Award nomination for Best Featured Actor in a Musical for his work as Nick Healy in Jagged Little Pill, a role in which he originated at the American Repertory Theatre in Cambridge, Massachusetts in 2018. Personal life
Derek was born in San Dimas, California, where he began performing locally at the age of 6. He also had a passion for baseball, playing in high school for South Hills High School as a pitcher. He now resides in New York City, where he continues to perform on Broadway.
On October 1, 2017, Klena announced his engagement to longtime girlfriend Elycia Scriven, and they married in September 2018.[6]
