Life and career

Gao was born in Taipei, Taiwan,[1] to a Taiwanese father and a mother from Malaysia.[2] He moved to Vancouver, Canada, during his childhood, and later studied at Capilano University in North Vancouver. Gao's father is Taiwanese while his mother is a Peranakan from George Town.[3]

Since returning to Taiwan to work as a model in 2004, Gao has appeared in several TV dramas and films. He played Magnus Bane in the film adaption of The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones (2013). He is also the first Asian male to model for the fashion brand Louis Vuitton. He is managed by JetStar Entertainment,[4][5][6][7][8][9] and joined Korean actress Yoo In-na for Wedding Bible.[10]
