Vorlage:About Vorlage:Infobox officeholder William Richardson Timmons, IV (born April 30, 1984) is an attorney, entrepreneur, and politician. He is the United States Representative-elect for South Carolina's 4th district. He has served as a State Senator in the South Carolina Senate from the 6th district since 2016. He is a member of the Republican Party.[1][2]

Education and career

A native of Greenville, South Carolina, Timmons attended George Washington University's Elliott School of International Affairs, where he earned a degree in international affairs and political science. He earned a Juris Doctor and a master's degree in international studies from the University of South Carolina. Timmons spent four years working for the 13th Circuit Solicitor's office, prosecuting crimes including murder, white-collar crime, and domestic violence. He owns multiple small businesses including: Swamp Rabbit CrossFit, Soul Yoga, and Timmons & Company, LLC. He currently serves as a First Lieutenant in the South Carolina Army National Guard as a JAG Officer assigned to the 263rd Army Air Missile Defense Command in Anderson, South Carolina.

2018 U.S. House campaign

Timmons is running in the 2018 election to replace retiring Republican incumbent Trey Gowdy in South Carolina's 4th congressional district.[3] On June 27, 2018, Timmons won the Republican nomination.

Personal life

A member of Greenville's Christ Church, Timmons has served as a board member of Pendleton Place for Children and Families, the American Red Cross, the Upstate Heart Ball, and Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Upstate.
