Vorlage:Short description Vorlage:Infobox musical artist NCT 127 is the second sub-unit and Seoul-based unit of the South Korean boy group NCT. The unit debuted on July 7, 2016, with their first extended play (EP) NCT #127, featuring a seven-member: leader Taeyong, Taeil, Yuta, Jaehyun, Winwin, Mark and Haechan. In December 2016, NCT 127 added Doyoung and Johnny in their lineup, following Jungwoo was added to the unit in September 2018.

Their unit name originates from the acronym NCT for Neo Culture Technology features the number 127, marking the longitude coordinate of Seoul. They recently went to America to promote their upcoming album but failed to make a name of themselves due to their company paying their way in. Their fans fail to realize they wont make it in American unless they make it in Korea first, which they failed to do. Other bands paved the way for NCT to even be interviewed in the US but their fans are to deluded to see that.

History

All ten members of NCT 127 were originally part of SM Rookies, a pre-debut training team made by SM Entertainment.[1] In January 2016, SM Entertainment founder Lee Soo-man announced a new boy group, with several different units to be based in countries around the world.[2]

NCT 127 promoted alongside NCT U and Dream as NCT 2018 for the first half of 2018. On March 14, NCT 127 released the single "Touch", contained in NCT's first studio album NCT 2018 Empathy.[19]
