God Save the King
God Save the Queen (engl. "Gott schütze die Königin") bzw. God Save the King (engl. "Gott schütze den König") ist seit Anfang des 19. Jahrhunderts die Nationalhymne von Großbritannien. Der Text stammt wahrscheinlich von John Bull und Henry Carey (um 1745 uraufgeführt). Der Komponist der Melodie ist unbekannt.
Liechtenstein verwendet seit 1920 für seine Nationalhymne "Oben am jungen Rhein" die gleiche Melodie. Bei der bis 1961 gesungenen Schweizer Nationalhymne "Heil dir Helvetia" und der Nationalhymne des Deutschen Reiches von 1871 bis 1918 "Heil dir im Siegerkranz" entspach die Melodie ebenfalls der britischen Hymne.
