United States Climate Alliance
Vorlage:Infobox Geopolitical organization Vorlage:Donald Trump series The United States Climate Alliance is a group of 3 states in the United States that are committed to upholding the 2015 Paris Agreement on climate change within their borders. It was formed on June 1, 2017, by Governors Jay Inslee (Washington), Andrew Cuomo (New York), and Jerry Brown (California) as a result of U.S. President Donald Trump's decision to withdraw the United States from the agreement.[1] A press statement released by Inslee states that "New York, California and Washington, representing over one-fifth of U.S. Gross Domestic Product, are committed to achieving the U.S. goal of reducing emissions 26-28 percent from 2005 levels and meeting or exceeding the targets of the federal Clean Power Plan."[2] All these states are governed by the Democratic Party.
The three founding member states make up 20.5% of the U.S. population and 24.7% of U.S. GDP as of 2016. In contrast, these states made up 11.1% of U.S. carbon dioxide emissions as of 2014.[3]

Potential members
By the evening of June 1, 2017, the state governors of seven other U.S. states had agreed to maintain their states' support for the Paris Agreement.[4]
These seven states combined with the United States Climate Alliance make up 30.1% of the US population[5], 35.3% of US GDP[6], and 17.8% of U.S. carbon dioxide emissions.[3]
