Yongpyong Ski Resort
YongPyong Ski Resort is a ski resort located in Daegwallyeong-myeon, Pyeongchan, Gwangwon-do of South Korea.
As well as world class skiing facilities, the resort offers golf in the summer months. The ski season runs from November - early April. Yongpyong was a candidate resort for the 2010 Winter Olympics and 2014 Winter Olympics, but ultimately missing out to Vancouver and Sochi. Yongpyong Resort has hosted races in both the alpine and disabled alpine skiing World Cups. The resort will host host the 2009 Biathlon World Championships.
Some scenes of the popular drama Winter Sonata were filmed at the resort.
