Ryan (Kalifornien)

Vorlage:For Vorlage:Infobox Settlement Ryan (formerly, Colemanite^[1], Devair^[1], and New Ryan^[2]) is an unincorporated community in Inyo County, California.^[1] It is located Vorlage:Convert southeast of Furnace Creek Inn,^[2] at an elevation of 3045 feet (928 m).^[1]

The town, originally Devair, was the terminus of the Death Valley Railroad, from which it was named: Death Valley Railroad.^[2] A post office operated at Ryan from 1914 (when it was transfered from Lila C) to 1930.^[2] The name honors John Ryan, an official with the Pacific Coast Borax Company.^[2]
