A. J. Green
Adriel Jasmear “A.J.” Green is an American football wide receiver. He is currently a junior at Summerville High School in Summerville, South Carolina, where he is playing under legendary coach John McKissick. Green is widely considered to be the top football prospect of the 2008 high school class.[1][2] Standing 6-4 and 190 lb. Green is a difficult matchup for any defensive back. He has earned All-State honors twice and was named by EA Sports the nation's top sophomore player after catching 75 passes for 1,422 yards and 16 touchdowns in the 2006 season. He hauled in 57 passes for 1,217 yards and eight touchdowns as a freshman. In his junior season, Green caught 60 passes for 1,203 yards and 14 touchdowns. Green was the only junior nominated to the 2006 USA Today All-American first team. He was also a member of the Rivals.com Junior All-America team.[3]
Green was profiled by Sports Illustrated as part of its “Where Will They Be?” stories on potential future professional greats, alongside Tyreke Evans, John Tavares and others.[4] Sports Illustrated compared him to the Oakland Raiders wideout Randy Moss and predicted Green will be in the NFL by 2011. Green was the first freshman ever to be interviewed by recruiting analyst Tom Lemming for his Prep Football Report. In July of 2006 Green verbally committed to the University of Georgia.[5] However, as of February 2007, media reported Green is no longer strong with that commitment.[6] He is still considering USC, Clemson, LSU and Notre Dame.
