Vorlage:Cleanup Gillian Tett is a journalist and assistant editor at the Financial Times.[1] She reported on instruments that have been the root cause of the financial crisis that started in the fourth quarter of year 2007, such as CDOs, credit default swaps, SIVs, conduits and SPVs, before these were widely reported.[2][3][4]

Gillian Tett predicted the financial crisis in 2006.[5]

Career and awards highlights:

  • 1993 Joined the Financial Times
  • 2007 Wincott prize for financial journalism (capital markets coverage)
  • 2008 British Business Journalist of the Year
  • 2009 Journalist of the Year (British Press Awards)
  • 2009 Financial Book of the Year (for her book Fool's Gold)[6]

Tett earned a PhD from Cambridge University.
