Pete Lynch
Pete Lynch (born March 31, in Silver Spring, Maryland) is an American singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist. In addition to singing lead and backing vocals, Lynch plays bass, guitar, keyboards and percussion himself when he is recording.
Early Life
Pete Lynch was born in Silver Spring, Maryland on March 31. He is the son of Linda Lynch, a professor of English literature and Germanistik and Peter Havlicek (a Czech dissident, who had fled communist Czechoslovakia in 1968), also a professor, teaching political and social sciences. Raised in a highly musical family (his mother plays the piano and harp and his father plays the guitar and was the guitarist in an Czech underground band) Pete Lynch discovered his love for music at a tender age. At six he purchased his first album, "The Who - Live at Leeds." A few weeks later he began learning his first chords from his dad. Pete was eleven when he moved on to playing the bass guitar, formed his first band and played his first concerts.
Musical style
Pete Lynch has been compared to the young Peter Gabriel and his musical style has been considered alternative rock. He has played many of the instruments in his music himself.
