S. Rajasekharan

Dr.S.Rajasekharan (Born 1946) is a noted Literary Critic and Poet in Malayalam. He is an active forefront worker in various socio-literary/cultural fields and the College/University Teachers’ Movements.

He was felicitated with Thayat Award for Literary Criticism (1991) and 'The Samskarakeralam Award 2000' by the Govt. of Kerala for the best article (Samskarikathayute Noottantu) published in the year.

Career

His career started as a lecturer and he has served as Professor and Reader in various Govt. Colleges andSree Sankaracharya University of Sanskrit, Kalady for over 30 years. In 2007 he Retired as the Director of the Regional Centre,Thiruvananthapuram, Sree sankaracharya University of Sanskrit. He was Member of Faculty and Board of Studies in the University of Kerala, Member of Board of Studies in Sree sankaracharya University of Sanskrit and Kerala Kalamandalam.

The University of Kerala awarded Ph.D.Degree for the thesis titled ‘Vailoppilli - Vision of Life and Poetry’ (1991).

Dr.S.Rajasekharan is an approved research guide in Kerala, Calicut and Sanskrit Universities and Member of the Doctoral Committees of Kerala , Mahatma Gandhi and Sanskrit Universities

Currently he is the Vice-President of the Sahithya Pravarthaka Co-operative Society, (SPCS) , Kerala.

He has published more than 25 books on Malayalam Literature and Culture and quite a few collections of Poems. Most of the books on literary criticism are approved text books/reference books in kerala, Calicut, Mahatma Gandhi and Sanskrit Universities and educational institutions under the Directorate of Public Instruction, Kerala
