Paraguaná Refinery Complex, located in Paraguaná Peninsule, Venezuela, the biggest in the world.

The Paraguaná Refinery Complex is a crude oil refinery located in the Venezuelan state Falcón and currently considered the largest refinery complex in the world.[1] It's the result of the fusion of Amuay Refinery, Bajo Grande Refinery and Cardón Refinery. Nowadays it has the capacity to refine 940.000 En la actualidad tiene capacidad de refinar 940.000 oil barrels per day. The complex is located in a shared area by the Paraguaná Peninsula in Falcón estate and the western cost of the Maracaibo lake in the Zulia estate. This complex helds the 71% of the refinering capacity of Venezuela and belongs to the estate-owned company Petróleos de Venezuela (PDVSA).

The Cardón Refinery starts its operations by 1949 with capacity to refine 30.000 barrels per day, today it does 305.000; the Amuay Refinery started with a capacity of 60.000 barrels a day and nowadays it does 635.000 and Bajo Grande Refinery, built by 1956 has the capacity to refine 16.000 barrels per day.
