Marley Marl

Marlon Williams (* 30. September 1962 in Queens, New York City), besser bekannt als Marley Marl, produzierte Rapper wie Big Daddy Kane, Biz Markie, Roxanne Shanté, Kool G Rap, MC Shan und Master Ace, sowie King Tee und LL Cool J. Außerdem produzierte er die ersten Hits "My Melody" und "Eric B Is President" von Eric B and Rakim, bei denen er James Brown-Samples und synthetische Beats in einer bis dahin unbekannten Art und weise mixte. Marley Marl war einer der Pioniere des Sampling im Hip Hop. Er war Mitglied der legendären Juice Crew (bestehend aus Marley Marl, Big Daddy Kane, Roxanne Shanté, MC Shan, Biz Markie, Master Ace, Kool G Rap) und war Mitbegründer des Labels Cold Chillin.
