"American Boy" is the second single from Estelle's second album, Shine. The song features U.S. rapper Kanye West. The song is set to be released physically in the UK on March 24 with the album release on March 31.
The song has been A listed by Radio 1 and B listed by Radio 2. It uses the same beat as Impatient from will.i.am's album Songs About Girls and this song itself is also produced by Will.I.Am.

Contains a special guest appearance from her Homeschool label's main proprietor John Legend, Taz Arnold of Sa-Ra Creative Partners, Ryan Leslie and Terrence J of 106 and Park fame also make cameo apperances in the video.[1]
Chart Performance
The single charted inside the UK Top 75 based only on the live version released on UK iTunes for 3 days. The single reached number 1 on the chart on downloads alone, a day before its physical release.
On 17 March, the song climbed to Number 1 on the UK itunes chart, due to extensive radio plays. It has been put on BBC Radio 1's A-List and was Scott Mills' Record Of The Week. The single has already become her most successful in the United States peaking so far at number 75.
