Assassin's Creed: Bloodlines is an upcoming video game exclusively for the PlayStation Portable and is part of the Assassin's Creed franchise, taking place in between the events of Assassin's Creed and Assassin's Creed II. The game is being developed by Ubisoft Montreal in conjunction with Griptonite Games and published by Ubisoft,[1] it will be released on November 17, 2009 in North America and November 20, 2009 in Europe.[2]

Gameplay

Assassin's Creed is an action-adventure video game infused with stealth elements, in which the player primarily assumes the role of Altaïr as experienced by Desmond similar to that of the original Assassin's Creed. Unlike the previous Assassin's Creed spin-off, Assassin's Creed: Altaïr's Chronicles, for the Nintendo DS, the game will feature a gameplay system similar to the original game where players are able to traverse an open world with nonlinear gameplay alowing players to free-roam the island at will. The stealth element of the game can be achieved by keeping out of sight of enemies and blending into the environment as well as entering hiding spots such as haystacks similar to the first game.[3]

Plot

Assassin's Creed: Bloodlines takes place before the events of Assassin's Creed II but after the events of the original Assassin's Creed. The game is set on the island of Cyprus where players would take on the role of Altaïr, the original main character in Assassin's Creed. Altaïr has travelled to Cyprus from the Holy Land which was the setting of the first game in order to assassinate the last remnants of the templars which would be the premise of the game. The game will be used to explain the link between the three main characters in the Assassin's Creed series: Altaïr Ibn La-Ahad, Desmond Miles(Descendant of Altaïr) and Ezio Auditore di Firenze(Main character of Assassin's Creed II, descendant of Altaïr).[3]Bloodlines also Includes more face time with the female templar that was spared by Altair in the first game,[see Assassin's Creed]

Connectivity

Assassin's Creed: Bloodlines will feature exclusive connectivity with the PlayStation 3's version of Assassin's Creed II, it was revealed at the E3 2009 that by connecting a PSP to the PlayStation 3, six exclusive and unique weapons can be unlocked on Assassin's Creed II as well as on Assassin's Creed: Bloodlines.

Entertainment Pack

Assassin's Creed: Bloodlines will be released together with a Assassin's Creed Entertainment Pack, it is a bundle which includes the game itself, a white PSP-3000, a 2GB memory stick and a UMD movie.[4]
