Judy May Chu, Ph.D. (Chinese name: 趙美心; pinyin: Zhào Měixīn) (born July 7 1953 in Los Angeles, California)[1] is an American politician and educator. She is member of the Democratic Party. She is the current Chair of the California Board of Equalization, representing the 4th District.
Education
Chu has a Ph.D. in clinical psychology and a B.A. in mathematics. She taught as a professor at East Los Angeles College for 13 years.[2][3]
Political career
Chu's first elected position was Board Member for the Garvey School District in Rosemead, California in 1985. In 1988 she was elected to the city council of Monterey Park, where she served as mayor for three terms.Referenzfehler: Es fehlt ein schließendes </ref>

Personal
Her husband, Mike Eng, was also a member of the city council for Monterey Park, though not at the same time, and is the current 49th District assemblymember, being Chu's immediate successor.
