habe senta berger artikel durch babblfish von alta vista laufen lassen und soweit als möglich korrigiert. da aber mein englisch not good ist (anstatt very bad zu sagen), bräuchte ich jemanden, der das mal korrektur list, ob man das so in die englische wiki reinstellen kann. hier das ergebnis.
Senta Berger (born on May, the 13th, 1941 in Vienna) is an Austrian actress and producer.
Senta Bergers parents are not rich, but however try everything, in order to meet the desires of their daughter. Her father, of whom her probably inherited talent, was a musician. With him, Senta already arises at the age of four years on stage. The father accompanies thereby the singing daughter at the piano. With five years she gets balletlessons. But her dream of a career as a dancer will at least destroyed by her last teacher, which takes offen at Sentas change during the puberty.
Thereupon Senta Berger turns and takes private instruction in acting. In 1957, she is engaged for her first, still small role in a film. She applies for the Max Reinhardt Seminar, a famous acting school in Vienna, and was accepted, but already a short time later ejected, because she had accepted a filmrole, without asking the director. In 1958, she becomes the youngest member at the ‘’theatre in the Josefstadt’’ in Vienna. But in the meantime she want more to make films.
More and more considerable directors and producers wants to work with her, for example Bernhard Wicki and Arthur Brauner, who produced the film ‘’The good soldier Schweijk with her and Heinz Ruehmann, a famous german actor. Brauner engaging Senta Berger for several films. But soon Senta Berger has enough from music films. In 1962, she follows the call from Hollywood and works with star as Charlton Heston, Frank Sinatra, John Wayne or Yul Brunner. Whether their refusal serialrole, which would have brought an obligation of several years with itself, the reason is, ends their career already after some years.
In the meantime, Senta Beger has met Michael Verhoeven in 1963, the son of Paul Verhoeven, a german actor and director. In 1966, they marry, after both had created their own film production company in the year before. In 1970, she stands for the first time in a film, produced by her own company and directed by her husband. Further on, also internationally successful films of their production company were, among other things, “The white rose (Die Weisse Rose)", "The terrible girl (Das schreckliche Mädchen)" or "Mutters Courage" . Besides she develops her european carrier in France and Italy. Beside level-poorer films also some promising, in addition, more unknown films are coming on the canvas.
The birth of her two sons arranges Senta Berger to turn again to the theatre. She successfully plays at the Burgtheater in Vienna, at the Thaliatheater in Hamburg and at the Schillertheater in Berlin. Between 1974 and 1982, she played the “Buhlschaft” in the play “Jedermannn” on the Salzburg Festival at the side of Curd Juergens and Maximilian Schell. In 1985/86, she started a comeback by the german spoken public in the very poular tv serial “Kir Royal”. Afterwards further serial hits follow, like “The fast Gerti”, where she plays a taxi driver. Also as a singer of Chanson and on read tours she celebrates successes.
Since February 2003, Senta Berger is president of the German Film Academy, who want to advance the new generation of actors and actresses in Germany and Europe and who should decide the assignment of the German Film Awards in the future.
