Satellite ist der deutsche Beitrag zum Eurovision Song Contest 2010 am 29. Mai 2010 in Oslo; Interpretin ist Lena Meyer-Landrut. Das Stück wurde vom US-amerikanisch-dänischen Songschreiber-Duo Julie Frost und John Gordon für den Wettbewerb komponiert und aus über 300 Songs für das Finale von Unser Star für Oslo am 12. März 2010 ausgewählt.[1] Es wurde sowohl in einer langsamen Fassung von der hessischen Sängerin Jennifer Braun als auch in einer schnellen Version von Lena Meyer-Landrut vorgetragen. Mit dem Votum für Lena Meyer-Landrut entschieden sich die Zuschauer zugleich für die schnelle Fassung als Teilnehmersong für Oslo.
Der Text beschäftigt sich mit einer Frau, die um die Liebe ihres Freundes kämpft, egal, wie er sie behandelt.

Produktion und Veröffentlichung
Für die Produktion waren John Gordon sowie Andre „Brix“ Buchmann, Ingo Politz, Bernd Wendtland von der Firma Valicon zuständig. Für das Remastering war Sascha „Busy“ Bühren verantwortlich.[2][3] Gesanglich unterstützt wurde Meyer-Landrut von der Sängerin Kayna.[3]
Die Single wurde am 16. März veröffentlicht, als Download war sie bereits am 13. März erhältlich und belegte den ersten Platz in den deutschen iTunes-Charts.[4] Innerhalb von drei Tagen wurde das Lied 40.000 mal in den Verkaufsportalen heruntergeladen und 122 mal in den deutschen Rundfunkanstalten gespielt. Am 16. März belegte der Titel Platz 58 der Deutschen Airplay Charts[5] und am 18. März Platz 1 der Amazon.de-Musik-Charts.
Bereits in der Nacht nach dem Finale wurde das Musikvideo aufgenommen, das sich komplett auf die Sängerin und ihren Tanzstil konzentriert.[6] Es hatte am 16. März 2010 kurz vor der Tagesschau in der ARD um 20 Uhr Premiere.[7]
