Walter H. Dalton (born 1949) is a Democratic member of the North Carolina General Assembly representing the state's forty-sixth Senate district, including constituents in Cleveland and Rutherford counties. An attorney from Rutherfordton, North Carolina, Dalton is currently (2007-2008 session) serving his sixth term in the North Carolina Senate.[1]
Dalton received a B.S. in Business Administration from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1971, and earned a J.D. from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1975.
In 2007, he announced that he would seek the Democratic nomination for Lieutenant Governor of North Carolina in 2008.[2]
