Dargestellt werden die jährlichen Ergebnisse der Marktforschungsinstitute Millward Brown und Interbrand. Interbrand gab erstmals 1988 eine Liste der erfolgreichsten Marken heraus. Seit 2001 erscheint jährlich eine aktualisierte Liste der "Best Global Brands". Millward Brown veröffentlicht seit 2006 jährlich das "BrandZ Top 100 Most Powerful Brands Ranking".
