Zakaria Zubeidi is the current Jenin chief of the Al-Aqsa Martyrs' Brigades. (There are other spellings of his name, but this appears to be the most common.)
Zubeidi is currently one of Israel's most wanted criminals, and ranks amongst the most popular militia leaders in Jenin.
He is married with two children, but has difficulty meeting his family very often. However he carries a photograph of his son around with him.
On 21 June 2005 Zubeidi met with the Scottish Palestine Solidarity Campaign delegation to Palestine in Jenin refugee camp, and gave them a tour of the camp, then took them to a meal in a restaurant in Jenin city.
On 6 July 2006, the IDF attempted to capture him at a funeral, but he escaped after an exchange of gunfire. [1]
