Emerson, Lake & Palmer (auch bekannt als ELP) war eine britische Rockband, die der Stilrichtung des Progressive Rock zuzurechnen ist und diese in der Frühzeit entscheidend mitprägte.

Die Musik der Band zeichnete sich durch eine keyboardlastige Vermischung unterschiedlichster Musikstile aus. Neben Jazz- und Blueseinflüssen wurde ELP vor allem für seine klassischen Einflüsse berühmt. Aus dem umfangreichen Gesamtwerk ragt das Livealbum Pictures At An Exhibition heraus, auf dem ELP die Bilder einer Ausstellung des russischen Komponisten Mussorgski neu interpretierten. Neben Eigenkompositionen (zum Beispiel der Suite Tarkus) wurden unter anderem klassische Vorlagen Bartóks, Leoš Janáčeks, Bachs, Ginasteras, Coplands, Guldas, Sullivans und Tschaikowskis bearbeitet.
