Hintergründe
Die Rockballade Nothing Else Matters, wurde von James Hetfield und Lars Ulrich, dem Sänger (Gitarristen) und Schlagzeuger der Rockgruppe Metallica geschrieben. Inspiriert durch eine frühere Freundin des Sängers, entstand dieser Song. Etwas ungewöhnlich für eine mehr an Heavy Metal orientierte Band. Nach vielen Gold- und Platinauszeichnungen erhielten sie sogar einen Grammy für die beste Metal-Performance. Nothing Else Matters ist das achte Lied auf dem Album "Metallica" (ugs. "Black Album") von 1991, welches sich mittlerweile über 35 Millionen Mal verkaufte. Zusätzlich gibt es noch eine Live-Version des Liedes mit dem San Francisco Symphony Orchester auf dem Album S&M (steht für: Symphony & Metallica) von 1999.
