Vorlage:Cleanup Vorlage:Onesource The Bahia Emerald — one of the largest emeralds (or rather, emerald crystals embedded in host rock) ever found — is a Vorlage:Convert Brazilian stone reported stolen in September 2008 from a secured vault in South El Monte in Los Angeles County, California, according to someone claiming to own the giant gemstone. While the stone had been appraised at $370 million, the true value is unclear. At one point, the emerald was listed for sale on eBay for a "Buy It Now" price of $75 million.

This is an Emerald conglomerat, and was listed on eBay by Gary Weiss, who established a realistic price of $75,000,000.00 Gary Weiss was comissioned to promote and sell the Emerald conglomerat together with his son Gil Weiss. After being moved from Brazil to the U.S., various attempts were made to monetize it without success. There were conflicting claims of ownership. The matter ended up in Court where the litigation still continues. With a sale unlikely while the Court had jurisdiction, in 2009, those involved in finding, moving it to the U.S. and attempting to sell it.
The stone remains in litigation without a current decision date. The film versions are in pre-production.
