RITES Ltd. ,a ISO 9001-2000 company, is a multi-disciplinary consultancy organization in the fields of transport, infrastructure and related technologies. It is owned by Indian government. It was founded in 1974 under the aegis of Indian Railways. Initially focused on railway management outside of India Rites has branched out in other infrastructure projects including airports, ports, highways, and urban planning and has handled projects in many countries primarily in Asia and the Middle East, and Africa, and South America. It maintains a staff of about 2,000 people.
RITES stands for Rail India Technical and Economic Services.
