Fort Minor ist ein Hip-Hop-Projekt von Mike Shinoda.

Auf dem ersten Album "The Rising Tied" wird der Linkin Park-Emcee unter anderem von Jay-Z (Co-Produzent), Styles of Beyond, Common, John Legend, Holly Brook und Kenna unterstützt.

Mike Shinoda singt den grössten Teil selber, an vielen Songs sind aber auch Ryan Maginn (Ryu) und Takbir Bashir (Tak) beteiligt, unterstützt von Colton Fisher (DJ Cheapshot).

Mike Shinoda produzierte und mixte alle Songs auf dem ersten Album selbst. Außerdem spielt er die meisten Instrumente, die zu hören sind. Zusätzlich zu der normalen Edition in den Läden, kam am selben Tag noch eine Special Edition heraus, die folgende Bonus-Tracks enthielt:"Be Somebody", "There They Go" und "The Hard Way".

Mike Shinodas Soloprojekt hat nach eigener Aussage keinen Einfluss auf das Bestehen von Linkin Park. Sie arbeiten bereits an einem neuen Album, welches im Sommer/Herbst 2006 auf den Markt kommen soll.
