Robert Michael Citino (* 19. Juni 1958 in Cleveland, Ohio) ist ein US-amerikanischer Historiker.
Leben
Citino studierte Geschichte an der Ohio State University (B.A. 1978) und der Indiana University Bloomington (M.A. 1980 und Ph.D. 1984). Seine akademische Lehrerin war die Diplomatiehistorikerin Barbara Jelavich (Dissertation: Polen greift an: Germany's Defenses in the East, 1918-1933).
Von 1984 bis 1991 unterrichtete er am Liberal Arts Lake Erie College in Painesville, Ohio und von 1991 bis 2008 an der Eastern Michigan University. 2008/09 war er Charles Boal Ewing Visiting Professor of Military History an der United States Military Academy in West Point. Von 2009 bis 2011 war er Associate Professor an der University of North Texas. 2013/14 und 2014/15 war/ist er Inhaber des Harold Keith Johnson Chair of Military History am United States Army War College in Carlisle. Seit 2013 ist er auch wieder als Professor für Europäische Geschichte am History Department der University of North Texas tätig.
Von 2004 bis 2006 war er Book Review Editor des World War II Magazine. Er ist Mitherausgeber der Reihe War, Weapons, and Technology (Praeger). Citino ist u.a. Mitglied der American Historical Association. Gelegentlich ist er für den History Channel tätig.
