Background
Establishment
Ashes remain is from Maryland, which Josh Smith and Ryan Nalepa met at a summer youth camp during worship services.[1] They prayed about forming a band, which they did because God opened a door at a church for Smith to become worship leader at a church.[1] This church was just mere minutes from Nalepa home, so this facilitated the bands creation.[1] The other members of the band were not added to some years later, which comprised Rob Tahan, Jonathan Hively and Ben Kirk.[1] The album Ashes Remain was made "from the perspective of feeling like there's no hope but finding out that there really is."[1] The band has embarked on a "journey from dark to light isn't overnight and sometimes has to be traveled many times, but it's a journey the band is familiar with and feels called to travel with its fans."[1] The first single from the album is "Everything Good", which is the most encouraging song on the record.[1] Just to show how broad based their appeal is they have songs that are played on CCM and Christian Rock and Rap stations, such as KSBJ and NGEN.[1]
Tour
Ashes Remain is currently on tour with Fireflight on the Stay Close Tour.[2]
