Apoptygma Berzerk (benannt nach gr. Apophthegma und Berserker) ist ein norwegisches Elektro-Projekt, gegründet 1986 von Stephan Groth und Jon Martinsen.
Da Martinsen kurze Zeit später ausstieg, war Apoptygma Bezerk zunächst ein Soloprojekt. Heute besteht die Band aus Stephan Groth, Geir Bratland, Fredrik Brarud, Angel Stengel und Anders Odden. Das musikalische Spektrum umfasst viele Aspekte der elektronischen Musik und reicht von EBM-Anleihen bis hin zu Trance- und Techno-Elementen und wird oft als Future Pop bezeichnet, jedoch scheut die Band auch nicht davor zurück, organische Elemente wie Gitarren in ihr Klangbild zu integrieren.
Nebenbei und unabhängig von seiner Band betreibt Stephan Groth noch das Projekt Fairlight Children. Zusätzlich zeichnet sich die Arbeit von Stephan Groth durch zahlreiche Remixe und Interpretationen fremder Werke (Cover Versionen) aus.
