Jeotgalicoccus ist eine Gattung von Bakterien. Sie zählt zu der Familie Staphylococcaceae. Benannt ist die Gattung nach der koreanischen Fischsauce Jeotgal aus der diese Bakterien isoliert wurden.

Merkmale
Die Arten von Jeotgalicoccus sind kokkenförmig und nicht beweglich. Der Katalase- und Oxidase-Test fällt positiv aus. Die Gattung ist halotolerant bis halophil und fakultativ anaerob, d.h. sie können in Umgebungen mit hohen Salzkonzentration leben und tolerieren auch niedrigen bis keinen Sauerstoffgehalt. Sie bilden keine Sporen.
Systematik
Die Gattung Jeotgalicoccus zählt zu der Familie Staphylococcaceae der Ordnung Bacillales.
