手動增加來源可以是一種緩慢與複雜的過程。幸運的是，有一種在維基百科編輯視窗內建的「引用工具列」工具會讓這類編輯更容易。
要啟動本工具，只要點選編輯視窗頂部的
引用
。將編輯視窗中的游標放置在想要引用的適時或論述文句之後，然後在下拉式選單中選擇其中一種模板。我們針對不同種類的來源設計不同的模板：
{{cite web}}適用於普通網站文獻。{{cite news}}適用於新聞網站中的報導。{{cite book}}適用於書籍文獻。{{cite journal}}適用於雜誌、學術期刊與論文。
這將會跳出一個視窗，在此您要盡可能填入關於引用來源的相關資訊，並且在「ref名」欄位賦予一個獨特的名稱。接著點選「插入」按鈕，這將會在編輯視窗中增加所需的Wiki語法。
Often you will want to use the same source more than once in an article to cite multiple facts. In this case, you can click the clipboard labelled "Named references" in the toolbar, and select a previously added source to re-use.
Don't forget to add a "References" section if there isn't one already (see the previous page if you've forgotten how).
