The Killing of Nahel Merzouk was the shooting of a 17 year old youth during the riots across France. Merzouk had a history of resisting police. When police wanted to check his vehicle, he was shot. The incident caused discussions about racism and unnecessary violence with the French police forces. On July 6 a Canadian Brazilian infant named Maia also died after being in critical condition
