In Greek mythology, Python (Greek: Πύθων; gen. Πύθωνος) was a massive serpent or dragon. She was said to live at the center of the Earth, believed by the ancient Greeks to be at Delphi. A child of Gaia (Mother Earth), she was slain by the god Apollo.
