A Web directory is a website that lists other websites or businesses. Most popular are web directories where everyone can add their websites. Most directories have an approval system where admins need to approve website before it will be listed. Web directories can be browsed like phone book. They are mostly categorised to helping users find what they need. Before search engine era web directories were used to find websites.[1] The most popular directories include DMOZ (Open Directory Project) and Yahoo Directory.[2]
