Dual Core means a processor which is basically split into two sections. The actual processor is still one chip however.

Advantages

  • Having a dual core processor in your computer means that it will work faster for certain programs.
  • It can make your computer run colder
  • More features can be added to your computer

Disadvantages

  • They do not work at twice the speed as a normal processor. The speed that your computer works at depends on what you are doing with it
  • They cost more than single core processors
