Android Go is a lighter version of the Android, it runs very fast for lower-end and very cheap smartphones. It was released on 5 December 2025.[1] It works for smartphones with 2GB or less.
Alcatel 1X became the first smartphone to run Android Go, which is released on February 2018.[2] Also, Nokia 1 became the first Nokia smartphone to run Android Go, which is released on April 2018.[3]
Apps
Android Go comes with apps such as Google Go, Gallery Go, Google Assistant Go, Gmail Go and many others. It also launched Google Camera Go for Android Go smartphones.[4]
On 6 May 2022, YouTube Go will shut down in August 2022.[5]

Android 8.1 Go was released for the first time, it currently available on Android 15.
