What defines a 'big' forum

The issue, I believe, that a lot of these forums have in common, is the debate over 'size'. It seems that if a forum or discussion board is 'big', then it is kept, otherwise, it is deleted. For example, GameFAQs is obviously huge, so it gets lots of keep votes, but a forum set up by a 15-year-old with 300 forums using InvisionFree, with his kid brother and himself as the other member, as the only two members, gets lots of delete votes.

So, I think that it is necessary for to set some sort of criteria of 'size' for articles.

Unfortunately, this is generally quite a grey area...

Well, Wikipedia:Websites currently proposes "5,000 or more apparently unique members" as adequate grounds for inclusion. That seems like a reasonable benchmark to me. That doesn't mean that we can't keep smaller fora, of course, if there are other grounds for keeping them. -- Visviva 11:05, 18 August 2005 (UTC)

In which case, 99% of the articles listed for deletion here should be deleted... Also, the Alexa ranking is a much more accurate benchmark, as it's not hard for a forum to reach 5,000 members in a short time. -x42bn6 02:31, 19 August 2005 (UTC)
