@Enterprisey: with a similar intention, I created m:User:DannyS712/ScriptBuilder.js to help start writing new scripts (see ScriptBuilder.template for a template that gets filled in with the basic boilerplate...) Specifically, its for scripts that add a link to the sidebar to Special:BlankPage/foo, and on the page render a form to do something.
