A Grade Crossing Predictor is a type of track circuit control for railway level crossings that aim to provide reasonably constant warning times irrespective of the speed of the approaching trains.

Limitations

Predictors cannot co-exist with all kinds of track circuits needed for other signalling, or all electrification systems. Complex track layouts are also problematic.
