1. User:JavaRogers/Template:Period font color
   • Created. Copied from original Template:Period color
   • Takes the period name as its parameter
   • Returns either white or black, using the CGMW color palette for reference
2. User:JavaRogers/Template:Fossil range/bar
   • Added a styled span around the link's display text.
   • Previously: [[{{{1}}}|{{{2}}}]]
   • Changed to: [[{{{1}}}|<span style="color:{{User:JavaRogers/Template:Period font color|{{{1}}}}}">{{{2}}}</span>]]
   • Note: Maybe this can be done more elegantly. I found the link overrides the color if the font is modified from outside the brackets.
3. User:JavaRogers/Template:Phanerozoic 220px
   • Previously: {{fossil range/bar|Paleogene|<small>Pg</small>}}
   • Changed to: {{fossil range/bar|Paleogene|<small>P<sub>G</sub></small>}}

Summary

• Symbol colors are controlled by User:JavaRogers/Template:Period font color, to contrast with background colors better (using CGMW color palette for reference)
• Reformatted Paleogene symbol (P_G) so it doesn't wrap on mobile
