Greetings,

I am writing about the mathematical notation used to describe . Though one can guess that the individual's direction of motion is a function of his neighbor's directions, I am not sure what the bracket notation of the term means - is it an average? A linear combination? A non-linear function? Any function? Furthermore, is that notation standard?

from the original paper: "denotes the average direction of the velocities of particles (including particle i) being within a circle of radius r surrounding the given particle." --Floydpig (talk) 07:35, 10 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I've updated the entry to include this information (unfortunately I'm a newbie and botched the change summary) --Austensatterlee (talk) 04:59, 26 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
