Comments

There should really be some mention of the use of strings to find things in programs which hadn't been meant to be left in there. This is a reasonably common use of the program in reverse-engineering and so on. Chris Cunningham 15:24, 25 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

If that is so, then I guess someone will have to add it sometime. Because I don't know so much about using it in such a way. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Frap (talkcontribs) 16:34, 25 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Does anybody know of a strings program that works with Arabic? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Simsong (talkcontribs) 18:46, 22 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Problems with this article

Mostly everything can be disputed ... most or all "facts" (works on object files, ends strings with NUL, configurable printables, is part of Gnu ...) apply to one implementation or another, and these are intermixed. JöG (talk) 20:48, 4 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
