TeX markup issues

The math markup in this article previously used the \operatorame* directive, but this does not seem to work in this context, instead rendering an embedded SVG output which contains unintended visible asterisks. See, for example, this SVG output, produced by the TeX source

<math>\widehat B = \operatorname*{median}_i \operatorname*{median}_{j\,\ne\,i} \operatorname{slope}(i, j)</math>

This is probably a bug in the wikitext TeX rendering code. See also https://phabricator.wikimedia.org/T185552 -- The Anome (talk) 21:34, 27 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]
