Truly terrible article

The article might be acceptable if it included a definition of its subject.

But it does not.

I hope someone knowledgeable about the modular lambda function can add a definition. 98.255.224.144 (talk) 18:51, 20 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Description of difficult to understand

The section Elliptic modulus begins as follows:

"The function λ*(x) gives the value of the elliptic modulus k, for which the complete elliptic integral of the first kind K(k) and its complementary counterpart are related by following expression:

"

Is that really the clearest definition of λ*(x) that can be given?

It seems that λ*(x) is just defined as the solution to an entirely unmotivated equation, leaving the reader completely puzzled over why the next 100+ lines of the article should be devoted to obscure properties of this obscure function.

I hope someone knowledgeable about λ*(x) can explain in the article why a visitor to the article about the λ-function should want to know so much about the λ*(x) function. 2601:200:C000:1A0:A5CA:366:D098:CA9C (talk) 19:01, 2 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
